Word is quick to reach the warring forts of a newcomer to the isle; and if the reports of the scouts are to be believed, a trio of ships arrived at the port town of Ranzington in the early hours of the morning. As the shadow over Ranzington was parted by Lathander's light, the silver-and-red armour-clad troops disembarked from the warships and quickly set to eliminating all resistance in the township.
Refugees from Ranzington who had previously taken to the sea when fleeing the supposedly-doomed town returned with the soldiers, both parties quickly getting to work on repairing the damage and setting up a new defensive perimeter around the battered township. However, none of Ranzington's previous leadership was seen amongst them, and rumours of foul play swiftly arise.
As the force hasn't publically identified itself, reports are sketchy on the who and why. The only information garnered from first contact was the distinctive banner that hung from the ships, and now from Ranzington's walls: a banner depicting a metal-gauntleted fist wreathed in flame. Some have suggested they saw the RDS Pathfinder, a ship known to be used by the government of Baldur's Gate, but the concept of Baldur's Gate seizing what was previously thought to be Waterdhavian territory is quickly dismissed by both captains as an absurdity.
The troopers have shown distrust towards the forces of Axfell and Cleaven, eschewing diplomacy in favour of threatening the two forts with war if they show any outwardly hostile behaviour to the occupying forces.
Amongst all the speculation of Baldurian involvement, the assassination of Sten and his cabinet, and the hostilities of these newcomers, only one thing is certain: this detachment, whoever they are, are here to stay and shall not yield to any interloper. _________________ O'er the hills and o'er the main,
