Section 1.0 - Character Creation

- Your character cannot have an "uber" background. What this means is that you cannot have a backstory where your character is the son of a god, a king of some powerful kingdom, related to a "famous" NPC like Elminster, etc.

- No walking gods or demon lords or similarly powerful divine beings showing up. You should check with a DM first to see if this is even possible before working it into your PC's story.

- Your PC cannot be the hero from another D&D video game like Icewind Dale or the NWN official campaign. It's debatable whether this stuff is even canon to begin with, and what happens when two people decide they're the main hero from Baldur's Gate? To avoid this kind of conflict, come up with an original background for your PC.

- Your PC cannot just be spontaneously possessed by a demon, etc. Things like this would normally happen in the course of a campaign at a DM's discretion, not be in the past of a level 1 n00b PC. You may propose a story like this to the DM team. If it is approved, it will occur as a plot that is run on the server and not be your PC's backstory from day 1. 1.1 - Character Naming

- Using names of commonly known from fantasy stories/cartoons/series/worlds/games is not allowed.

- No special characters (_, &, - etc...) in Names, only characters and spaces.

- No colors in names.

- No descriptive names like "Jared the Wild" or "Sir William Bloodmoon", if you wish to be known by a nickname, then simply ask others to call you by it in character. 1.2 - Character Appearance

- Skin pigment must be normal to the particular race you choose unless a DM says otherwise.

- No children characters may be created in any faction. The military camps in Anphillia are not safe for children to live and as such they will not be tolerated by the fort leaders. There will be no exceptions made. 1.3 - Deities

- Clerics and Paladins must have a deity from Forgotten Realms: Faiths and Pantheons ONLY. Please contact a DM if you do not have one set for your character.

- A list of deities can be found on our forums under server announcements or using the Anphillia Reference Centre in the dream.

1.4a - Races

- The race of Planetouched may only be played after submitting an application and receiving DM approval. The Genasi races are not currently allowed.

1.4b - Subraces

- The subraces of Drow, Half-Drow, Duergar and Svirfneblin are not allowed, no exceptions.

1.5 – Multiclassing & Prestige Classes

- Characters may begin multiclassing freely into a non-prestige class at level 2, the combination must be in character; each of your classes should at least have 3 levels in them.

- Classes must be no more than 10 levels apart when multiclassing.

- Prestige Classes are permitted with DM consent. To be approved a player needs to apply on the forums to the DM team who will weigh the application and the history of both player and character in the decision.

- All prestige classes are available, but Red Dragon Disciple and Neverwinter Nine. You may find the application template here.

- All prestige Classes must at least have 5 levels in them.

- Monks and paladins cannot multiclass with other base classes. However, they can multiclass to prestige classes as long as they can progress in their base class.

1.6 - Character Remakes

- Character remakes are only permitted if your character is bugged, illegal (incorrect clerical domains usually), or for heavy RP reason (large quest.)

- Under no circumstance should you ask a DM for a remake without the reason of one of the three stated above.

- If you have one of those valuable reasons to request a remake, you must submit your request in writing to one of our DMs. You will find a list of our DM team members here.

In your request you must include the following:

1. The reason for the desired remake/relevel. Be as detailed as possible.

2. You must list your current class level, ability scores, character name to be remade, and login.

- Each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis. The DM team reserves the right to deny a request for a remake/relevel if we do not deem it necessary.

Section 2.0 - Expectations In-Game

- You must "live" your character as though you were truly him/her, abiding the statistics in your character creation window. Example: A person with their charisma at 8 wouldn't be appealing; also a person with low intellect would not be able to speak well.

- Charisma describes your characters physical appearance and your general etiquette regarding social situations. Whether you aspire to be a Warlord of Axfell that leads through intimidation and fear, or a Noble Knight of Cleaven who leads through chivalry and compassion, you will require a fairly high Charisma to achieve this realistically.

- Faction switching is disallowed. The DMs will never grant a faction switch.

- XP is only given back if DM chooses so during an event or if your character is bugged. GP or items are rarely refunded when lost.

- When designing your character and his/her story, do not make him/her have any powers or strengths that your actual character will not have at the point he/she is created. Don't design your character's story to give him/her natural superiority to other players' characters. Let IC stay true to what actually is IC.

2.1 - Chat

- Please remain IC on the talk channel at all times. The only exceptions for OOC talk is when a DM is present, in the area "A Dream" (Starting Location), or if you must explain something that requires use of OOC (do this only in tells.)

- No profanity, racial slurs (OOC), or dirty language is allowed in any channel. This is to protect minors and for atmosphere purposes.

- Abbreviations such as "LOL", "WTF", "SS" (Stone Skin) are NOT wanted here. Keep these abbreviations IC (AFK can be done IC as if your character may have to eat, nap, etc)

- Statistics, experience, levels, numbers are OOC. If one wishes to know something particular, keep it in tells.

- Cyber sex is not allowed on any channel on this server, regardless of role-play reasons. If you encounter people who are cybering, take screenshots as proof, and then contact a dm via the channel or forums.

- Cyber sex of any sort will always result in banning from the server by CD key. A good rule of thumb is to avoid roleplay of a sexual nature all together, this includes any and all physical intimacy beyond kissing mouth to mouth. All determinations of what are and are not cyber sex will be left to the discretion of the server admin and DM's.

- Tell channels can be monitored and logged. Keep that in mind if you plan on meta-gaming or abusing one of the aforementioned rules.

- No "Cheesing": "Cheesing" an ability is the act of playing your character as if they have an ability which the NWN2 engine would not otherwise allow them to have.

2.2 - Movement

- Walking is encouraged at all time (except in a fight). People don't run around all the time, they walk.

- Walking around heavily encumbered is not realistic, unless it is a death march (carrying corpse back to fort for resurrection). If we see players continually doing this expect to have monsters attack you while you are slow.

- It is good role-play if you "give in" to weight that you carry, and the fatigue you gain from it - Sidestepping to avoid slow while encumbered is also exploiting a bug.

2.3 - Pick Pocketing

- You are not allowed to pickpocket members of your own faction.

- If you catch and kill the thief who stole something from you, the item must be given back to the victim. Failure to do this will result in the loss of some items from the thief (that go to the victim).

- Once you pick pocketed one person before and get caught/killed, you may not do it again. As that character would have their guard up around you from then on.

- If the thief successfully picks your pockets and gets away, your character may not engage them with the intent to kill regarding that pick pocketing instance. It would be OOC information that would allow you, the player, to know that - not your character.

- Pickpocketing during PvP/battle is unsportsmanlike. One attempt only, win/lose/draw. Continued attempts will result in your bag spilling all over the ground.

- You can only steal three items per target per server reboot.

2.4 - Traps

- Traps are allowed to be set. (See 4.4 - Other) 2.5 - Disarming

- Disarming in combat is allowed. The weapon will be unequipped into the inventory of the owner and cannot be drawn for some time. If it falls to the ground, it must be returned to the owner. 2.6 - NPCs

- NPCs in your faction are your superior officers and comrades'; attacking them is often completely OOC, and could result in your being tried for attempted murder or treasonous activity.

- If you commit a hostile action towards an NPC in your faction (offensive spells, melee combat, etc.) The NWN AI considers you hostile and will beat you into submission and jail you for questioning. In addition this actions is considered an OOC act, and is strictly against the server rules, and you will be punished harshly for it which could lead to permadeath or banning.

- If you attack a fellow faction-member within eyesight of an NPC, they will attack you into submission and jail you. This is not a killing - it is a detainment - treat it as such. You are detained for questioning - which means escaping before questioning could result in your being a marked fugitive.

- Interacting with the world is an essential part of every persistant world, that is interacting with both other players and with the environment. Ignoring NPC's and such aspects of the environment willingly during roleplay is detrimental to the realism and consistency of the setting. As such, it is considered akin to metagaming to ignore the non-player elements of roleplay to one's advantage. For example, if your character engages in PvP in Ranzington, it is not acceptable to ignore the guard NPCs simply because there are no DMs online to control them. 2.7 - Clerics/Druids/Paladins

- You MUST role-play prayer to your Gods as well as following their specific doctrine or domain. We understand it is hard to do it during battle but something short after battle (Thank you God for sparing me/granting me the gift of resurrecting my fallen comrades) will do. If you do not regularly worship your God you will lose your gifts.

- Druids take an oath on entering the druidic order that they will never use (or carry) large metal objects such as weapons, shields or armor, as metal is considered dead and is an affront to nature. Only non metal objects like wooden quarterstaffs or "druidic" weapons such as scimitars are acceptable and armor or shields must be made of ironwood. Rings, amulets and other small trinkets are acceptable. Similarly Druids would never willingly mine or work with large quantities of metal ores.

- Clerics must have both of their clerical domains set to match a god/deity from the supported list found here. If you have any questions on this please contact a DM. 2.8 - PvP & Death/Dying - If your character finds need to attack another PC who is not originally set hostile to them, they must do so via the player list.

- Raising an enemy just to kill him again is NOT allowed.

- When one falls in battle, a corpse placeable is created and the PC is immediately teleported to the fugue plane.

- Corpses are not to be picked up during PvP until after the battle had ended (wait about 5 minutes to be absolutely sure.)

- Bodynapping (taking a body with you without the intention to burn/scalp/raise) is not allowed. Leave the bodies where you find them so his/her friends can come rescue them. Bodynapping to set up an ambush is allowed!

- The fugue plane is completely IC.

2.9 - Parties

- You may not create parties (in a game mechanic sense) as they cause lag.

- Soloing is allowed, but the module is balanced for group play. You solo at your own risk on Anphillia.

Section 3.0 - Dungeon Masters

- Always follow DMs directives and respect the DMs' judgements in-game. If you feel you've been treated wrongly or unfair and are unable to resolve it, Contact a DM or Senior Dungeon Master; don't try to spoil or compromise anything IC as a reaction to it.

- If you are unhappy with the turns of an in game event or feel wronged, it is preferable that you cool off and use the forums to contact a DM, Complaining to a DM via in game tells, despite being directed to forum's Pm's, could be considered as harrassement per the rules.

- If you ask a DM about any matter and they say no DO NOT go to another DM and ask the same question with hopes they will say differently. Playing one DM against another is not tolerated. Going to another DM is not only annoying, but it wastes your time, and it wastes our time especially whenever it conflicts with our organization.

- Please do not spam the DM channel as we have 60-70 players to deal with and it can be quite a hassle to read through all the messages. Keep your questions and replies succinct and well thought-out.

- You may appeal the punishment via private msg to a DM on website.

- List all facts and send screenshots for proof. We will review each case separately and let you know of our decision.

Section 4.0 - Cheating

4.1 - Powergaming

- Powergaming is not allowed. If you solely play to gain XP and "show off", you have chosen the wrong server.

- If you are disturbed by a possible powergamer, then please take screen shots for proof and send a PM to one of the DMs on the forums. We will try to keep an eye on such players.

4.2 - AI Abuse

- Exploiting AI bugs is considered a cheat. Be it Creature Ping-Pong (hitting creatures with ranged weapons to make them run back and forth) or any other exploit against the AI, it is strictly forbidden, and besides you're taking some fun from the game. This is your only warning. It is entirely possible that you will meet a slightly "buffed" monster if you abuse AI errors.

- If you experience a bug or exploit, please report it on our Bug Reports forum in the Feedback section.

- Running from AI to prevent further attack by using transitions is considered AI bug exploiting, and/or avoiding death, and is punishable by the rules stated above.

- Logging out and logging back in to avoid death is not allowed.

4.3 - OOC Knowledge Abuse

- Creating a second character to join the other army to harass them or to gather information is one of the worst things you can do. This is TOTALLY OOC and will be punished harshly.

- Muling: Transferring objects from one of your characters to another is totally OOC too and strictly forbidden. Only exception to the rule is if a DM allows transferring items in rare circumstances (recreating a bugged character, correcting a character creation error)

- Don't hand out items/gold based on OOC things. Don't give out items because of OOC based friendships. Don't give away items because you are abandoning your character.

- Logging off one character to jump onto another during an event is OOC that the other character would know of it (unless told/hears horns).

- Tag-teaming with own characters is not allowed. Don't use one character to clear an entire dungeon or parts of an area to then log in with an alternative character to roam the same place.

4.4 - Other

- Transition Camping is NOT allowed. An example of this would be attacking someone as they load through a transition. To prevent this, be sure you and/or your party are far enough away they cannot see the blue transition square, and even then, a bit further away would be recommended. Punishment for this can range from a simple warning to a couple dragons and their families.

- You may not play characters on both sides of the war (Axfell/Cleaven) If you are caught breaking this rule we choose which character you may keep and delete the other off of the server's vault.

- If you decide to play another faction you must first delete your old character(s) before creating a new character in the other faction. The same holds for switching back later. You will not be able to continue playing your old character(s) (which were deleted) when you switch back. (Contact a DM to have your vault cleared)

- If you trade with or otherwise aid an enemy faction you may be accused of treason and your character could be killed off permanently.

- Every other cheat you can think of is forbidden. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive a warning for your first offense and the "new" cheat will be added to this list.
